Nutrition, Seed Oils, and Chiropractic

1. Nourishing Your Body: The Impact of Seed Oils

Nutrition plays a crucial role in supporting your body's natural healing processes. We'd like to draw your attention to the potential downsides of consuming seed oils. While they are commonly used in various processed foods, research suggests that excessive intake of seed oils may contribute to inflammation and other health issues. Oils to avoid include, vegetable oil, grapeseed oil, peanut oil, sunflower oil, and sesame seed oil. Cottonseed oil, another inflammatory oil was first used as a motor oil after is was produced in abundance during the invention of the cotton gin. Soon cottonseed oil would make its way into "American Olive Oil" because it was much cheaper than olive oil and did not change the color of the oil. In the late 1800's Italy actually outlawed American Olive Oil because of this secret integration.

Consider incorporating healthier alternatives such as olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil into your diet. These options are rich in beneficial fats and can contribute to overall well-being while also being less inflammatory compared to the oils listed above.

2. The Power of Protein: Fueling Your Body

Adequate protein intake is vital for maintaining optimal health. Protein is essential for muscle repair, immune function, and overall energy levels. Make sure to include sources of high-quality protein in your daily meals, such as lean meats, fish, eggs, and dairy. The goal is to consume 1 gram per pound of body weight per day. For example, if you are 145 pounds, try to consume 145g of protein daily. Consuming enough protein during the day will lead to less cravings and less snacking throughout the day.

One thing that I love to tell patients is that you cannot outwork a bad diet. If you are not fueling your body properly, the exercise you are putting in will not be fruitful. Think of it this way, you would not put 88 unleaded fuel in a Lamborghini, if the goal is to become a high-functioning individual, then we must give our bodies the proper fuel to reach that goal. Just as if you want your vehicle to run to the best of its ability, you feed it high-quality fuel and perform regular oil changes. By prioritizing protein, you provide your body with the building blocks it needs to thrive and recover effectively.

3. New School Chiropractic Care: No Gimmicks, All Results

In addition to proper nutrition, evidence-based chiropractic care plays a crucial role in supporting your body's mobility. Regular chiropractic adjustments and supported soft tissue care can help improve joint mobility, reduce pain, and enhance your overall quality of life. By incorporating cupping, dry needling, and exercise routines, we decrease the time it takes to heal by a large margin. Gone are the days of 15 appointments to feel better, and mass scheduling appointments. Our goal is to get you feeling better in the smallest length of time possible and I trust that many of you have already experienced that with us.

If you have any questions about nutrition, chiropractic care, or would like to schedule an appointment, I am here to assist you.
